A Weekend of Martial Arts Mastery: The 6th IMB Seminar in Kettering.

From April 12th to 14th, Kettering saw the highly anticipated 6th IMB Seminar. With sessions featuring the expertise of Steve Da La Cruz from IMB Academy-Steve is the head of the IMB academy. Since his passing, Richard Bustillo left the academy in Steve’s safe hands to continue and promote his legacy. There were also sessions from Mo Teague of Tactical Research & Development Group and Andy Gibney of United Fighting Systems. The weekend promised to be a dynamic blend of instruction, camaraderie and countless burpees.

Throughout the weekend, we were treated to a diverse array of sessions covered from the instructors. Covering various aspects of JKD, there was something for everyone. From boxing techniques to knife defence, trapping drills to fitness routines and much more. The seminar catered to the holistic development of martial artists, both physically and mentally.

The atmosphere throughout the weekend was one of camaraderie, as old friends reunited.

With next year's seminar already on the horizon, along with a packed schedule of various training opportunities throughout the year at Norwich JKD and Kali, there is no shortage of excitement for what lies ahead for our Norwich-based club.

The seminar also served as a platform for senior instructors to reaffirm their commitment to excellence, as Jenny, Mark, and others underwent recertification showing their dedication to honing their skills and deepening their martial arts knowledge.

The 6th IMB Seminar in Kettering was a resounding success, thanks to the expertise of the instructors and the enthusiastic participation of all who attended. It felt like a fitting tribute to Sigung Richard Bustillo’s legacy and served as a testament to the enduring appeal of all associated clubs. And here's to hoping that in future seminars, we'll dodge a few of those the dreaded burpees…
